Mercury Free Dentistry
Every case can be appraised on its own merits. Investigations may include;
1. X-rays - to look for possible decay (associated with higher filling corrosion and thus faster filling breakdown.
2. Intra-oral video camera views to illustrate your clinical case.
3. A micro-ammeter can be used to measure and record the relative degree of corrosion and/or galvanic activity in the old amalgam restorations (metal fillings). This can be used to decide the order of filling removal.
Then we can remove mercury containing fillings following strict health guidelines.
